Inventory Analyst Skills and Qualifications

Inventory analysts must be detail-oriented professionals with the ability to multitask and manage many inventory items at once, while maintaining communication with all employees along the supply chain. These core skills are required:

* Communication –Need excellent verbal communication skills to speak with employees as well as strong written communication skills to create regular inventory reports

* Computer Skills – Be proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (especially EXCEL) and use them to create digital reports and analyze inventory statistics

* Analytical Skills – Have analytical skills to study inventory statistics, verify numbers, and track shipments

* Organizational Skills – Employ strong organization skills to maintain efficiency with multiple bases

* Time-management – Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines

* Problem-solving Skills – Use problem-solving skills to correct system discrepancies and identify process enhancements

* Multi-tasking – Because they manage multiple tasks at once, strong multi-tasking skills are essential for this position

* Mathematics – Analyze financial statistics, which requires excellent math skills

* Attention to Detail – Must possess a strong attention to detail

Job Duties:

* Monitors, investigates and analyzes all aspects of inventory; recommends changes to inventory levels, min/max and part type changes.

* Audits and reconciles inventories, including variance reports and computer inventory adjustments. Researches and resolves complex inventory discrepancies.

* Audits processes and analyzes data (e.g., returns and inventory movement analysis). Analyzes inventory metrics and recommends improvements.

* Analyzes inventory levels in order to maintain inventory integrity and minimum service levels. Creates processes to support data integrity

* Analyzes surplus/excess Inventory across the system. Leads and assists with various duties associated with measuring and maintaining an accurate inventory within all supply chain work groups.

* Analyzes repair data to identify items with high “No Fault Founds” and “Warranty Denied”.

* Performs secondary auditing of inventory across each location.

* Interacts with various internal departments, including Materials, Maintenance and Finance, as required.

* Provides technical leadership to team and department members. Leads through example; monitors, influences and trains others, including on the job training.

* Performs projects, analyses and data extractions and other duties as assigned.

* Performs other Tasks as Assigned.
