Description

The Slots Intern, reporting to the Worldwide Airport Slots department, will be a recent graduate in a relevant field, or have just started their career. This opportunity is based in Geneva.

The position requires a good appreciation of the aviation industry generally, without a need for expertise in the specific area. The Intern will be working on global policy issues related to the allocation of airport capacity at the worlds most congested airports, including involvement in the Strategic Review of the Worldwide Slot Guidelines. It is an exciting time to join a team that is integrated in the global development of slot policy and process whilst supporting the airline industry and its future growth. The position requires a sound ability to analyze data, interpret regulation and assist in the day to day work of the team, which includes preparing the twice-annual Slot Conference.

Responsibilities

* Conduct research on a variety of issues related to airport slot management and use of airport infrastructure related to seasonal allocation of capacity;
* Undertake detailed data analysis and liaise with airlines and our stakeholders to further our industry intelligence
* Update our data repository’s relating to slot regulation and rules;
* Support with the day to day operations leading up to the twice-annual Slot Conference.
* Manage and maintain content of the Worldwide Airport Slots website, extranet and intranet sites working with our communications team.
* Create, edit and publish our monthly Slot News
* Support the team with additional administrative tasks will be required including updating presentations and compiling reports.

Qualifications and Skills

* Recent University graduate;
* Strong knowledge and interest of the aviation industry is an asset.
* Strong analytical and statistical skills, understanding of economic policy an asset;
* Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining high quality and standards;
* Ability to summarize complex information and data into simple concepts and communications;
* Excellent written communication skills including drafting external publications and documents;
* Excellent command of English, both written and oral; and working knowledge of other languages is an asset;
* Attention to detail;
* Ability to work in a multicultural environment;
* Highly motivated, self-starter and team player, with ability to work and be effective in a dynamic, fast-paced and highly demanding environment, whilst meeting tight deadlines.
