Position Overview:

* Provide front line support for Service Desk incident and request tickets.

* Support of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, desktop, voice and data networks, servers, mobile and fixed telephony.

* To ensure all components are maintained and work reliably to meet company needs.

* Support projects designed to promote business functions and goals.

* To promote the effective use of new and existing technology.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

* Timely response and resolution of Service Desk calls and planned work requests. Manage such items through to resolution or escalate them to another member of the team or the Infrastructure Manager.

* Support and monitor existing infrastructure, perform preventative maintenance work, backup and perform other regular support activities as required.

* Work effectively in a team environment by openly sharing information, ideas, or concerns and giving constructive feedback to help ensure the team is successful.

* Participate in and support the implementation of infrastructure projects and upgrades to meet company goals.

* Maintain appropriate records of time spent, actions taken and item status to facilitate manageability, future problem resolution and to keep users informed of progress.

* Liaise with external suppliers and support agencies for the ongoing support and maintenance of relevant hardware and software.

* Ensure that all work and changes are performed in such a way as to minimize all disruption to existing business use.

* Assist in keeping track of the company’s infrastructure assets and ensure that the infrastructure and data is kept secure at all times.

* Adhere to complex IT administrative directives as per ADs and other associated company procedures.

* Build effective working relationships with local and corporate IT support, as well as business line personnel

Position Requirements:

* Post secondary education in IT/Computer Science or equivalent

* Proven and demonstrable experience in supporting IT infrastructure including networks, security and hardware

* Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical terminology to people with limited or no technical understanding.

* Excellent customer service skills, always striving to improve services to meet customer and business needs.

* Demonstrates initiative in looking for root causes and takes on new responsibilities.

* Willing to explore innovative approaches when problem solving, seeking ideas or suggestions from others as appropriate

* Self motivated, capable of working under demanding time constraints, able to work with minimal supervision, and able to communicate with data processing and non data processing personnel.

* Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances

* Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies.Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation

* Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities in your area.
