Job Role:

At British Airways, we do more than get our customers from A to B. We’re about creating a memorable inflight experience. This means on both long-and short-haul flights, we go above and beyond by providing exceptional dining, bedding and other soft products that are the ultimate in comfort, inflight entertainment and Wi-Fi that keeps customers engrossed on their journeys.

As Inflight Product Development Manager based near Heathrow, you’ll have the scope to improve on our fantastic product offering to deliver a connected, market-leading inflight customer experience.

Main responsibilities

Everything to do with the inflight product experience (excluding cabin interiors) will come onto your radar. Leading a high-performing team of product professionals, you’ll define the experience in all cabins across our entire short-and long-haul fleet – creating a seamless package and taking the lead on the selection of menus and beverages for our global flights.

You’ll bring our product developments to life – managing all aspects of the product design lifecycle, from initial concept through feasibility to go-to-market, and harnessing customer data, commercial insights and external market trends to drive innovation. Collaboration is a way of life at British Airways. So you’ll work closely with our Global Supply Chain to ensure the quality of new products, our Brand and Marketing teams on market launches, and third parties such as caterers or inflight entertainment content providers. Your impressive commercial acumen will be at a premium too, as you optimise investments and monitor spend.

About you

Of graduate calibre, you’ll be a real foodie from a catering, culinary or hospitality background. You should have an understanding of airline planning and operations, preferably gained in a product or marketing role. And you’ll be experienced in managing third-party supplier contracts and SLAs.

The dimensions of the role mean we’re looking for a broad range of attributes. You’ll be an innovative thinker, creative problem solver, customer champion, visionary strategist and ingenious conceptualiser in the field of new product development. You’ll be a proven leader who can build consensus with key stakeholders, take difficult decisions and manage complex relationships. Someone who has the presence and stature to negotiate, influence and deliver change.

If you have what it takes to make this pivotal, forward-looking role your own, find out more and apply here.
