This paid internship will run from mid-August 2018 to December 2018. Actual dates may vary. Normal business hours (generally Monday through Friday) will be expected. Housing and transportation will not be provided.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Intern will have the opportunity to learn about various functions of the Human Resources department at Piedmont. to include, but not limited to: employee relations, labor law compliance, recruitment, and leadership training and development. Duties and responsibilities may include: data entry, processing paperwork, filing documents, assisting with recruiting events, taking inventory, and ordering supplies. This position will also assist with managing a disciplinary action appeal process. Other duties may be assigned. Upon successfully completing the internship, the intern will have a better understanding of employment and labor law, employee complaint resolution, standard recruitment processes, and how to manage multiple projects that are time sensitive.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Minimum of one (1) year of progress towards a degree with a major or minor in human resources (or) closely related field
* Experience with Microsoft Office (specifically: Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to handle and prioritize tasks, solve problems, and meet deadlines
* Ability to interact with all levels of management and support staff
* Valid Driver License (w/ minimal infractions)
* No DUI/DWI in past five (5) years

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience using applicant tracking software
* Knowledge of airport and airline operations

Work Environment:

* Standard office environment, use of computer and other office equipment
* Some travel may be required (up to 25%)

Physical Requirements:

* Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
* Frequent standing or sitting for long periods of time
