Head of Operations IT Delivery Excellence

SAS IT & Digital Innovation is responsible for all IT within Scandinavian Airlines.

The organization has 120 employees and is located at SAS Head Office at Frösundavik in Solna, just outside Stockholm. Operations IT is one of the three business IT departments within SAS IT & Digital Innovation. Operations IT is responsible for providing all IT services necessary to run the airline operations – in the air, on the ground and in the hubs.

SAS is a technology leader and has a long history of developing innovative solutions that have revolutionized the airline industry. In recent years, we have developed an innovative production model to create flexibility and efficiency while providing the best customer experience.

As Head of Delivery Excellence you will have the responsibility of managing the full service delivery of Operations IT. This includes a development project portfolio of some 100 MSEK annually, as well as the day-to-day quality of IT services to all SAS Operations functions globally. You are responsible for ensuring and supporting an efficient and effective IT delivery process, based on best practice and SAS standards.

You will report to the Vice President, Operations IT and will be part of the Operations IT management team. You will work at the SAS Head office in Frösundavik, Stockholm.

Travels to our Scandinavian hubs will be a part of the job.

Some of your responsibilities:

* Ensure a complete and accurate view of the overall status of Operations IT delivery

* Ensure governance, priorities and roadmap for the Project Portfolio in the business areas of Flight Operations, Network Planning, Ground Operations, Technical Operations, External Production and Operations Control Center

* Ensure business ownership, progress and governance of each project in the portfolio

* Support to Heads of department, Service Managers, Project Managers, Project Owners. Drive changes and new ways of working that will improve project and service delivery in the business area

* Represent Operations IT in PMO and other decision forums

* Overall responsible for quality of IT Services within the business area, ensuring delivery according to internal and external agreements, SLA: s, and SAS standards

* Responsible for ensuring that Lean and ITIL standard delivery processes are adhered to and drive changes that will improve service delivery

* Represent Operations IT in cross functional forums handling Service Management related issues such as major incidents, problems, change, configuration. Also, participate in or lead cross functional task forces when needed

* BCIO representative in IT-sourcing activities and in implementation of new or updated ITsourcing contracts and/or improvement activities together with suppliers

Who are you?

* You are an experienced leader of IT development and digital transformation

* You have a track record of delivering innovative solutions to business problems

* You are able to translate business needs into an actionable strategic roadmap

* You can develop and lead a high performing team

* You have a relevant Masters degree (Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent)

* You are fluent in English and at least one Scandinavian language (written and spoken)

Experience and background:

* Experience from a similar position in a large organization

* Experience as a Project Manager and from working with or within a corporate PMO

* Experience of Service Management and Business Relationship Management

* Experience of outsourced and offshored project delivery

* Experience of project portfolio performance follow up

* Experience of IT delivery performance follow up

* Experience in Agile and DevOps based project delivery

* Experience in ITIL-based service delivery

About our Office

Frösundavik is a great place to work. There is a gym, restaurant, café and a variety of services to make your life easier. It’s located in a green area of Solna and close to Hagaparken and Brunnsviken. There’s a non-stop bus connection from the Central Station to Frösunda and commuter trains to/from Solna Station. Of course, cycling is another option and many of us enjoy the scenic route to the office every day.
