Head of Hub coordination & ramp ops Brussels

Mission

The position is responsible for all Brussels Airlines “below the wing” operations in Brussels and reports directly to the Vice-President Ground Operations. He/she is the final responsible for the following (sub)-departments: Ramp Operations, Ground Transport, Weight & Balance & Baggage Services.

Tasks

People Management

The position is responsible to set-up, to develop, to manage, to coach and to motivate the teams in his/her area of responsibility, to create an environment that encourages accountability and ownership at all levels of his/her department and to ensure safe and secure operations, according to established quality standards and customer service levels.

Budget Management

The position assumes the full and final responsibility for his/her department’s budget. He/she ensures that the department’s budget reflects operational priorities and he/she takes ownership in a regular budget follow-up in line with the guidelines established by the Controlling department. He/she proposes and implements, if needed, corrective budgetary actions to stay aligned with the overall company financial objectives for his/her department.

Operational excellence

The position translates the overall strategy for Ground Operations in achievable and measurable objectives and targets for the various sub-departments under his responsibility. He/she ensures that all necessary (human and material) resources are allocated in order to comply with company targets and customer expectations and he/she bears responsibility for cost efficient and transparent processes, guidelines and procedures in all concerned sub-departments and with the handler in Brussels.

Interpersonal Management

The position represents his/her department in high-level meetings with internal and external stakeholders. He/she participates in cross-departmental projects with both internal and external partners, he/she defends the interests of his/her department towards internal stakeholders and third parties and he/she negotiates the most optimal position for his/her department.

Profile

Thinking and acting at bachelor level is the minimum

Minimum 5 years’ experience in the airline industry is a must.
