We have a strong culture of innovation and achievement and are now on the lookout for a Head of Digital Transformation & Design to join our emerging Digital & Direct Division to champion this critical business area.

The role

As a newly created senior leadership role reporting directly to our General Manager, Digital & Direct, the Head of Digital Transformation & Design is accountable for the strategy, prioritisation and delivery of the Digital Transformation agenda for the Virgin Australia Airline. This includes (but is not limited to) the build and evolution of guest facing applications and services such as the Virgin Australia App, Booking engine and Manage My Booking capabilities. You’ll also be ensuring Virgin Australia is continuously enhancing its service and brand proposition by adopting new digital technologies.

The role will also lead the Digital Experience (CX) Design framework and the end to end digital user experience across the airline. What does success look like? Nothing less than the delivery of world class digital experiences that drive guest satisfaction and revenue for the organisation. It’s an exciting opportunity for an energised digital leader who can lead multi-disciplinary teams in an agile environment and wants to make a difference. Key stakeholders include IT partners, external vendors, Digital Sales & Optimisation, Marketing, Revenue Management, Finance and more. The role has three key areas of accountability:

Digital Transformation - Lead the design, prioritisation and delivery of the Digital transformation initiatives (e.g. Data, insights, process and delivery) that drive digital outcomes. You’ll bring your people on the journey by clearly defining processes and outcomes that lift business capability in this competitive market.

Strategy & Revenue - Delivery of the Digital strategy and driving direct sales revenue.

About you

We’re looking for someone with robust achievements in digital transformation and design in similar sized, values driven organisations. Your history with delivering and/or managing a key customer facing technology platform will be critical to your success. Strong communication and influencing skills.

Must haves

* At least five years’ experience leading high performance Digital transformation, project delivery and Innovation teams

* At least two years’ experience leading agile, cross functional teams

* At least five years in the practical application of Human Centered Design concepts

* Extensive experience in managing internal & external partners

Airline & Travel industry experience is valued though not essential.
