Head of Cross-market development

SAS is recruiting for a new Head of Cross-market development to strengthen the Revenue Management team

The Revenue Management (RM) organization is responsible for maximizing SAS passenger revenue by offering the right product to the right customer, at the right price, in the right market at the right time of day.

SAS is now looking to expand the RM leadership team with a new position, Head of cross-market development, reporting to VP Revenue Management. The cross-market function has existed in the past, and will now be re-established to provide central support the RM organization

This leadership role will provide an opportunity to shape a new team in a critical function in SAS. As Head of Cross-market development, you will strongly influence with functional scope of the unit and be responsible for recruiting a high-performing team. You will have large influence over RM processes, centralized revenue steering, the overall Revenue Management agenda at SAS, and you will indirectly influence >30 bn SEK SAS passenger revenue

The main areas of responsibilities and tasks

* Develop the functional scope for the Cross-market team and recruit team members; build the team

* Centralized steering and processes (e..g, budget process, award steering)

* RM business intelligence: Develop, manage and track KPI s and tools, and initiate steering actions

* RM process development and best practice sharing

* Managerial responsibility for 2-5 employees

Qualifications, competences and personal qualities

SAS is looking for a person with an academic background and professional experience relevant to the task at hand. Revenue management and airline experience is therefore a strong plus

As there scope of the role is wide, SAS is looking for a person with own initiative to prioritize and drive the work. Ability to influence and work well with others is a strong plus, as the role in many cases will be to support and influence the optimization teams in the right direction. The work will also be highly data driven: the candidate likely enjoys data driven analysis, prefers to argue with numbers and likes to support hypothesizes with data.

* University degree, Master of Science or equivalent (Economics, Engineering or equivalent)

* Working experience in revenue management or a relevant analytics-heavy function, preferably in airline but potentially elsewhere

* Leadership experience is a plus

* Good general problem solving skills

* Understanding of the airline business model and business drivers

* Analytical mindset

* High integrity: speak his/her mind

* Verbal and written proficiency in at least one of the Scandinavian languages (preferably Swedish), plus English is a strong advantage.

The position is a full-time employment located at SAS headquarters in Frösundavik, Stockholm. There will be limited expectations on travel. We assume you act professionally according to the SAS role model for leaders. Employment asap or according to agreement.
