Reports to: Group Quality Manager Catering Operations

Purpose

Responsible for supporting, administering, implementing and maintaining an effective quality assurance program inclusive of the implementation of catering uplift standards across the Catering Centre of Excellence (CCOE) of the Cathay Group airlines, and with relevant suppliers of catering services.

Key responsibilities and tasks

Operational Quality System and Quality Assurance

* Support the delivery of the Cathay Group airlines quality management system

* Ensure the integrity of Cathay Group airlines Quality and Safety policies and procedures are maintained at all times, where appropriate.

* Act as lead auditor or auditor in Catering Hygiene Audits and Catering Operations Audits and provide results to CCOE.

* Perform new caterer due diligence (Potential Supplier Inspections - PSI) and forward results to Procurement department (APD).

* Conduct Catering Pre-flight Inspections and provide results to CCOE.

* Assist to prepare and maintain the annual catering audit and inspection programme for the Cathay Group airlines

* Update the audit database (AQD) for the purpose of the recording the audit activities.

* Effective participation in the consolidated port audit programme.

* Support Group Quality Manager Catering Operations in review of audit guidelines, catering hygiene and catering operations service standards and procedures and provide recommendations on improving performance and effectiveness.

* Deputise for Group Quality Manager Catering Operations as required

* Adhere to company policies as published in the Cathay Group airlines intranet and in company manuals

Qualifications / Experience

Skills

* Good command of both spoken and written English.

* Interpersonal and communication skills.

* Strong organizational and problem solving skills.

* Data- and process-literate

* Computer literate - Microsoft Office

Knowledge

* HKDSE: Minimum Level 2 or equivalent in 5 NSS subjects including English, or

* HKCEE: Minimum Grade E in 5 HKCEE subjects (Including level 2 or above in English Language)

* Tertiary qualifications or commensurate work experience

* Lead auditor qualification

* Care Team training

* Dangerous goods awareness qualification

* Safety Management System

* Good understanding of airline catering operations

* Food safety & HACCP qualifications

Experience

* 3-5 years’ experience in the food & beverage, hotel management or airline catering environments

* Adequate and appropriate auditing or quality systems experience

Competencies
