** Location: Initially, this role will be based at our Southampton Airline Academy. The role will relocate to our new state of the art London Training Centre, Gatwick Road, Crawley in early 2019 (anticipated transfer 1 February 2019). **
Due to continued growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Global Pilot Selection Assessor to join our busy team reporting to the Global Pilot Selection Manager. Providing a selection and assessment process to place candidates into varied pilot recruitment campaigns with L3 Commercial Aviation and Airline clients.
Key responsibilities will involve, but not be limited to:
Screen all applications according to the agreed criteria and correspond as appropriate using Airline Academy’s pilot database
Manage applicants at all stages of selection to ensure that the events are managed to full capacity
Program manage the client airline’s requirements for selection activities
Undertake selection activity and presentations when required by the Airline Academy
Carry out significant overseas selection – which can be up to 14 days at a time (50% of role)
Liaise with internal and external L3 Colleagues globally to enhance and maintain the selection process
Attend three Careers Events per year – usually held on the last Saturday of the month National & International
Prepare and deliver feedback to candidates as required – face to face and telephone
Deliver results face to face – Pass/Fails
Ensure the profile of selected pilots meets client requirements
Liaise with Selection Manager to ensure effective assessment scheduling
Database and inbox enquiry management
Manage, update and administer the L3 database system
Ability to train, update both new and unqualified staff from within the L3 Selection Team and external Airline clients.
Conduct comparison of qualifications and license verification checks using Airline Aviation’s approved system
Keep up to date with the latest HR, legal and development trends and adopt best practice
Manage recruitment resources and create new selection materials
Ability to organize overseas Selection activities with the sourcing of flights, accommodation, custom and Visa requirements. This will include the re-charging of fees to the client airline in line with contractual obligations.
Complete other duties that may be reasonably required within the selection /administration arena
Comply with regulations applicable to GDPR
Adopt a flexible working approach to location, working hours, overnight commitments and adaptable to changing selection procedures
Person Specification
Qualification and educational requirements:
Educated to GCSE English and Maths, Level A-C (or equivalent)
Ideally hold TUA / TUP qualifications (Ability & Personality)
A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
Essential skills and experience:
In depth knowledge and extensive experience within selection and recruitment practices
Previous experience in managing high volume recruitment campaigns
Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing requirements
Proven organisational and administrative skills with demonstrable success in managing a variety of tasks and/or activities
Self-motivated, confident and enthusiastic
Good team player with strong interpersonal skills
Professional communication and presentation skills
Proficient within various IT packages, in particular Excel and Word and the competence to administer computer based testing packages
Able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Customer focused and committed to candidate care
International outlook, ability to deal comfortably with various cultures is preferred

Desirable skills and experience:
Experience of the aviation sector from a Selection and Assessments standpoint
Knowledge of Direct Entry Pilot general requirements
Multi-lingual would be an advantage
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00 (flexed as per business requirements)

First Interviews: 13, 14, 20 and 22 November
