We have a great opportunity for an experienced and confident Front End Development Lead to play a critical role in the development of Jetstar’s digital systems. Utilising both your people and technical skills, you will manage a small, geographically dispersed team of developers (internal and external) while taking the lead on defining the front-end technical architecture that will be used across our customer facing digital domain.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Digital Technology & Delivery, key responsibilities of this role will include:
• Leading the front-end development team - a small team of 2-4 internal front end developers with oversight across a further 5-6 external developers
• Owning (defining & managing) the front-end technical stack/architecture used across the Jetstar digital domain
• Ensuring ongoing delivery of quality, timely front-end code that is consistent with the goals, plans and requirements of the business
• Being a thought leader in the front-end technologies, fostering an engaging, collaborative and productive team environment through coaching, mentorship and leadership
• Continually improving and evolving development practises and tools while adhering to appropriate internal guidelines and policies
• Ongoing travel (approximately 3-4 trips per annum) throughout Asia Pacific.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and experience:
• Tertiary degree (Computing/Multimedia/Web Development)
• Proven experience leading a team or, at minimum, effectively managing projects
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience working as a developer (min 4 years on Front End technologies)
• Familiarity with optimisation and personalisation and how to integrate them
• The ability to build strong working relationships with UX/UI designers and product managers
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with an ability to influence and communicate with both technical and non-technical peers and stakeholders
• Advanced understanding of front-end performance issues, and analysis on large-scale, high volume, transactional websites and how to optimise.
• Willingness to travel.
