Job description

• Ensure that the safety management system is properly implemented, maintained for Flight operations.

• Maintain overview of the NAI and the Norwegian group’s safety performance in Flight operations operational areas and an effective system for identification of hazards, risk evaluation and risk management

• Be current on the development of acts, regulations and best practice within aviation risk management

• Be the inspirator, safety advocate and communicator for an effective safety management in your operational areas

• Engagement in the process to continually improve internal procedures and guidelines for risk-based safety management

• Ensure a unified approach for risk-based safety management in all operational areas

• Ensure effective safety management at our external product and service providers

• Be responsible for initiation and follow-up of internal occurrences / accident investigations

• Support the growth and integration of the Norwegian group safety.

Qualifications

We are looking for a person preferably with the following experience:

• Experience from the aviation sector in technical, ground but mainly Flight operations

• Experience in the preparation of safety risk analyses, and conducting risk management processes

• Relevant qualifications / degree desirable

• Experience from investigation of incidents, accidents and human factors

• Experience from safety and quality audits

Personal qualities

• Excellent understanding of principles and techniques for risk-based safety management

• Demonstrable analytical skills and qualifications

• Technical understanding and knowledge of the aviation business especially Flight operations

• Knowledge of acts and regulations in aviation, including ICAO’s SARP

• Good communications skills, both internally and externally

• Ability to be persistent and promote a just and fair culture together with an open reporting culture

• Excellent computer literacy with knowledge of relevant software programs

• The ability to communicate effectively with both internally and externally to ensure continued safe operations

• Ability to motivate in a cross-functional, multi-site, global team environment to meet the Norwegian group safety goals.
