Flight dispatcher (temporary)

Mission

Authorize, regulate and control commercial airline flights according to government and company regulations (rules implemented by ICAO, IATA, BCAA, CAA) in order to expedite and ensure safety of flight.

As you are licensed and certificated by the Aviation Administration/Authority, you have the joint responsibility with the Captain for the safety and operational control of flights under his/her guidance;

Tasks

* Analyze and evaluate meteorological information in order to determine potential hazards to safety of flight and to select the most desirable and economic route of flight.

* Compute the amount of fuel required according to type of aircraft, distance of flight, maintenance limitations, weather conditions and minimum fuel requirements prescribed by aviation regulations in order to ensure sufficient fuel and a safe completion of the flight.

* Prepare flight plans containing information such as maximum allowable take-off and landing weights, weather reports, field conditions, NOTAMS and many other informational components in order to provide all info required for the safe completion of flight.

* Prepare and sign the dispatch release in order to provide authorization for a flight to depart.

* Coordinate and find a solution for all anomalies in the daily operations in order to reduce/mitigate the economic impact.

* Close cooperation with the Network Management.

* Ensure the safe operation of our flights at any time.

* Monitor weather conditions, aircraft position reports, and aeronautical navigation charts to evaluate the progress of flights in order to be able to update the pilot in command of significant changes to weather or flight plan and recommends flight plan alternates, such as changing course, altitude, speed, and, if required, enroute landings in the interest of safety and economy.

* Originate and disseminate flight information to other in the company including stations and reservations in order to make it possible to provide information to the travelling public.

Profile

Technical

* You obtained a Bachelor degree and you are a licensed or certificated Aircraft Dispatcher

* You have a minimum of 2 years experience in aviation

* Experience in company operations policy, meteorology, and air regulations

* Knowledge of Aircraft systems, Airspace structure and Air Traffic Control procedures and processes

* Languages: English (mandatory), Dutch, French, German of advantage
