Job description

• Be a part of department Flight Planning data improvement and development team.

• Provide support and follow up on matters involving company Flight Data & Navigation community.

• Stay updated on regulatory matters involving flightplanning and ATS related regulations and guide lines within area of company operations.

• Contribute to development and revision of OM-B, chapter 5 (Flight planning).

• Create and revise department procedures with regards to Flight Planning data maintenance & sub-processes.

• Provide feedback, mitigations and error correction to Flight planning Systems related discrepancies or anomalies in cooperation with Flight planning System Specialist.

• Insert, revise and delete company NOTAMS & Crew Bulletins based on input from company operationally accountable personnel.

• Keep Flight Planning Briefing portal(s) user accounts up to date.

• Together with company IT department secure Flight Planning System communication with sub-systems (i.e. technical system, Crew system, etc.)

• Daily flight planning system data maintenance:

o Optimization and monitoring of Flight Planning System automation in cooperation with Flight System Data specialist.

o Monitoring and Optimization of Flight Planning System Aircraft communication.

o Flight Planning system shall be programmed to reflect company aircrafts performance, equipment and approvals.

o Ensure correct data on company FPL’s

o Add/revise company Traffic Rights

o Inflight Monitor – System settings, monitoring and communication.

o MQ interfaces ACARS – LIDO – ACARS

 FMS downlink conversion format

 FMS uplink conversion format

o Aerodrome approval status should be updated and monitored reflecting approval status.

o Maintain and develop company route databases within Norwegian`s area of operation.

o Flight Planning System export to Electronic Flight Bag.

 Secure & Monitor ARINC 633 or alternate .XML data export to company EFB`s.

o Test new Flight Planning System versions.

• Construct and present flight plan & release load data for potentially new city pairs.

• Supply the Flight Management System (FMS) data supplier with company route data required to cover the Company’s standard routings within the Company’s area of operation.

• Stay up-dated with ATC changes in national and international regulations, including preferential routings, with regard to flight plan filing.

• In cooperation with Flight System Data specialist/Manager Navogation ensure that flightplanning personnel receive guidelines for system use reflecting company regulations and system updates.

• Ensure daily back-up routines of flight planning system is established and accomplished.

• Ensure system safety through access & user account control.

• Ensure system data validity and availability of weather data, NOTAM, Winds, charts and Navdata base.

• Ensure fuel prices, handling agent data and all crew names are updated regularly.

• Provide input with regards to processing of Safety Net o

Qualifications

• EASA/FAA flight dispatch qualifications, Flight engineering degree or trained pilot.

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a Flight Planning organization (Preferably Lido Flight.

• Extensive knowledge to international flight planning processes.

• Knowledge of Aircraft enroute & take off/landing performance

• Extensive knowledge of Flight Planning System background coding and functionality.

• Good knowledge of EASA & FAA operational regulations and guidelines within area of operations & flight planning.

• Extensive knowledge to ETOPS flight planning regulations.

• Experience with flight planning applications, software development and maintenance.

• Analytical skills related to aircraft performance, regulatory requirements and system programming.

• Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office software
