Responsibilities

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

Responsible for all essential functions of an Inflight Supervisor, which includes but is not limited to:

*
Responsible for coaching and counseling behavior, performance and appearance issues with Flight Attendants

*
Conducts Flight Attendant attendance reviews and documenting appropriate Flight Attendant files

*
Conducts audits, ghost rides, gate checks, team-building flights and visits to Provisioning and out stations

*
Must qualify and maintain all active requirements of a Southwest Flight Attendant

*
Attend all required Leadership annual training(i.e. Recurrent Training, CISM training, Drug and Alcohol training and any other training set by the company or leader

*
Responsible for review and follow-up of On-board Peer evaluations and monitoring of On-board Flight Attendant job performance

*
Participates in new-hire Base Orientations

*
Ensures Flight Attendant recognition and awards programs are in place and follow up occurs with anniversaries, external commendation letters, LUV reports, e-kicktails, on the spot and all other special recognition awards

*
Participates in the Flight Attendant interview process

*
Assist Base management with staffing, planning, and scheduling of the operation

*
Assist leaders with various Base, Local and Company committees and events (Cultural, Safety, Ronald McDonald, etc) by attending meetings, providing feedback on any necessary changes

*
Responsible for documentation of Staff Meetings

*
Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

*
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

* High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
* Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:

*
High School diploma or equivalency required

EXPERIENCE:

*
Two years of Leadership experience required

*
Must be able to successfully complete the Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant Initial training program within three months of hire (dependent on SWAU availbility of classes)

*
Flight Attendant experience preferred

* Must be 20 years of age

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:

*
DOT Position

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

*
Weight must be of such proportion to height that a neat appearance is maintained and physical ability to perform all job functions is not hindered.

*
The ability to, while facing forward, walk and fit comfortably down the aircraft aisle, fit quickly through the over-wing window exit, and to fit into a jump-seat harness without modification, including closure without a seatbelt extension.

*
Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds from floor to shoulder level as required.

* Also requires the ability to lift carry-on items from floor to above shoulder level with assistance

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK SYLE:

* Must be able to comply with company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
*
Must have mobility, including working p.m, weekend and overnight shifts in field cities

*
Must maintain working knowledge of Flight Attendant manual, Work and Conduct rules, and Collective Bargaining Agreement

*
Must be decisive, show attention to detail and meet deadlines

*
Must be aware of hazardous situations and be able to provide a leadership role in an emergency as needed

*
Must be able to work well with parts of a Team

*
Must be able to communicate effectively with Internal and External customers face to face and through written communication

*
Able to conduct crucial conversations and provide feedback

*
Must possess strong organizational skills

*
Must be able to read documents, follow instructions, learn and understand emergency and Company procedures, rules and regulations

*
Must have the ability to comprehend and keep abreast of information pertinent to the job such as special promotions and new procedures

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

*
Must possess a valid, unexpired passport

*
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.

* Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined my the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
