Engineering Planner I
Job Description
The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position. The Engineering Planner is responsible for generating and maintaining production planning to support manufacturing efforts.
* Generates and maintains production work order routings/planning to support customer requirements and delivery schedule.
* Create rework planning for parts or tools as required.
* Reviews customer-engineering changes.
* Reviews customer purchase order requirements and changes.
* Support manufacturing and other departments as an internal customer.
* Coordinates engineering efforts within the department.
* Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
* Other duties as assigned.

* Good finger dexterity is needed for computer data entry.

Occasionally required to climb, stoop and move and/or lift up to 25 pounds.

Working conditions are: 75% office environment, 25% manufacturing environment.

Noise level is moderate in office environment.

Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme heat.
*
Hearing protection must be worn in designated manufacturing areas.
*
Safety glasses (ANSI Z87 compliant) required in all manufacturing areas.
*
Safety Footwear shall be in accordance with the following: ASTM standard F2413-05 with minimum impact resistance, compression resistance and metatarsal designation ratings of 75 foot pounds (i.e. ASTM F2413-05 I/75 C/75 Mt/75), which are viewable on the inside tag of footwear.

Skills & Qualifications

* Knowledge of aerospace company specifications and practices
* Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, machining, forming and welding, preferred
* Ability to manage numerous projects and meet deadlines
* Strong analytical and communication skills and detail oriented
* Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six-Sigma, Continuous Improvement knowledge/experience preferred
* Overtime as needed to support manufacturing
* Read and understand internal procedures and policies
* Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions
Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.
* High School Diploma; up to 3 years related experience in job function and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience
* Three years’ experience as Engineering/Production Planner, preferred
* Technical writing skills preferred
* Computer experience: Microsoft Office, BaaN
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mylars
