Position Description

.StandardAero is pleased to present an opportunity for a Propulsion Engineer in its Winnipeg, Manitoba facility. The successful candidate will join a dynamic government and military engineering department, and will work with a diverse team of individuals on an aircraft prototype project for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).
The primary tasks of the Propulsion Engineer include preparing/revising (or assisting with) Aircraft Modification Approval Forms, Airworthiness Certification Plans, Type Design Examination, Requests for Effort, Experimental Flight Permits, Modification Instructions, Aircraft Operating Instructions, and Maintenance Manuals. Also will be involved in flight test instrumentation and supervising engine/nacelle/propeller installation.
Secondary duties include providing technical support to RCAF CC130H and CP140 1st and 2nd line maintenance at the RCAF Main Operating Bases (MOBs): Trenton, Winnipeg, Comox, and Greenwood (most support can be done remotely). This includes reviewing technical requests and developing Deviations, Non-Standard Repairs, Maintenance Program Changes, Special Technical Instructions, and Modifications, as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitors and enforces compliance of technical requirements to RCAF regulations, and industry standards
• Performs quality control of technical tasks (schedule, risks, budget, etc.), and regularly reports on task status
• Cooperates and communicates with project manager and other project resources to ensure technical project deliverables are achieved
• Engages additional technical resources as required in support of engineering deliverables, and provides effective task mentoring
• Oversees completion of technical tasks performed by subcontractors
• Completes tasks to customer specifications, and on schedule
• Acts an intermediary between StandardAero, RCAF T56 Technical and Program support representatives, and other Canada organizations (i.e. Directorate of Technical Airworthiness and Engineering Support (DTAES), Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment (AETE))
• Supports airworthiness activities for the prototype project and T56 contract requirements
Position Requirements

.• Minimum 3-5 years aerospace engineering experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with aircraft maintenance (CC130 or CP140 preferred)
• Experience & training in Failure Modes and Effects Criticality Assessment (FMECA)
• Experience and training in aircraft certification
• Completion of an Engineering degree (Professional Engineering designation is considered an asset)
• Able to perform both individually as well as part of a diverse team
• Able to decisively interpret and enforce RCAF policies, procedures, and regulations
• Possesses intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft® Word® and Excel® applications
• Possesses exceptional attention to detail, and superb verbal and written communication skills
• Able to travel in Canada and the United States
• Canadian Security Clearance will be a requirement (Secret)
