We are looking for a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer II. A Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer Level II will:

• Perform the requisite structural related system integration design, documentation, substantiation, installation support, and testing for military and civil aircraft systems, and will lead less-experienced aerospace and mechanical engineers in performing these functions.

• Create and review mechanical/structural designs, manufacturing, and installation drawings for system modifications using SolidWorks and AutoCAD software; and coordinate with production personnel during fabrication and aircraft installation process to develop cost effective designs.

• Provide on-site installation support and perform aircraft surveys.

• Develop, review, audit, and update engineering processes as required to maintain AS9100 certification.

• Generate and review military (MACCs) and civil airworthiness documentation.

• Perform analysis at all levels of total system product development to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of military aircraft and related systems.

• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions meeting all technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

• Perform functional analyses, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware specifications.

• Perform detailed stress analyses using both hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) software

• Generate and review engineering design artifact documents to include, but not limited to, requirements documentation, test documentation, Structural Substantiation, Weight and Balance, and System Safety Analysis.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science with at least 2 years professional experience, or Masters of Science, from an accredited college in mechanical or aerospace engineering, respectively. Experience must be related to aircraft structural design and certification, the mechanical integration of aircraft subsystems into aircraft, and associated detailed stress analysis.

• Candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present formal technical presentations.

• Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks (or similar modeling software) and the preparation of stress analysis reports are required.

• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently are required.

Desired:

• Experience and/or specific education related to AS9100 processes associated with the integration and/or certification of avionics and electronics into aircraft is highly desirable

• Any professional experience related to the military aircraft is highly desired.

• Experience with Nastran is desired.

• Airworthiness certification experience (military and/or civil) also is desired.

Candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Government Secret clearance.
