About The Job

This job is a member of the Engineering Team within the CMaC (Configuration Management and Control) group in the Technical Operations division.This position will be ​responsible for Engineering support on various aircraft structure/system/interior/avionics. This position has a crucial role collaborating within Technical Operations, to affect Configuration, Safety and Compliance of our fleets.

This position is at our Airfield Drive location, close to the DFW airport.

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

* Analyze, interpret, and compile accurate information to define all Configurations and Airworthiness Certifications.

* Provide engineering oversight to other departments based upon CMaC Requirements.

* Create, revise and approve other Engineering documents as they pertain to CMaC.

* Approve the use of alternate parts and materials in accordance with the applicable CFR’s and procedures, using design approval through drawing methods.

* Manufacture drawing, part approval drawing, or specification control drawing.

* Oversee multiple, complex, Source Systems for Configuration status, to achieve CMaC in a safe, efficient and cost effective strategy.

* Work independently as a Project Engineer for the development, design, and implementation of processes and procedures to ensure CMaC compliance, while advising senior management of CMaC Requirements.

* Other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college.

* 1 to 3 years of Aircraft Engineering or Engineering Configuration Management and Control required.

* Understanding of CMaC as it pertains to the CFRs, Technical Operations policies, processes, and procedures and Operations Specifications.

* Excellent interpersonal skills, effective organization and planning skills.

* Computer skills to include all levels of MS Office suite

* Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral/written and communication skills required.

* Proven ability to define Configuration Airworthiness based upon the CFR’s and OEM technical data.

* Proven ability to manage, plan, coordinate, and lead all aspects of interdisciplinary projects, including: Technical Operations Engineering, Records, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to achieve Configuration Requirements, with Safety management being paramount.

* Demonstrated knowledge of FAA accepted parts including: standard parts, owner/operator produced parts, parts manufactured by a repair station or other authorized person during alteration in accordance with an STC or field approval, fabricated parts, or commercial parts (COTS).

Preferred Qualifications:

* Proficiency in Mainframe, Teradata, SAP, IMS, Sabre, SCEPTRE, FileMaker Pro, and Lotus Notes.
