Job Summary

As the Employee Relations Manager, you will be responsible for providing timely, practical and professional guidance on all HR issues for the allocated units. With support and guidance from the Head of HR Operations, you will lead on all HR case work ensuring support and guidance is in compliance with Company policy, procedure, legal requirements and the HR and business strategy.

The role will involve both leading and supporting projects within your area encompassing all areas of the employee life cycle including change management programmes and HR continuous improvement projects. This is a busy and diverse role that requires strong organisation skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders of all levels.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

*

Manage a range of diverse and conflicting priorities to deliver a high quality of service to the business and to ensure a healthy succession within the HR team

*

Ensure that all employee relations casework is completed in compliance with our key performance indicators (K.P.I)

*

Ensure advice is aligned to Company policies and procedures, employment law legislation and common law principles

*

Provide advice and support to employees and management teams within area of remit on employee relations matters

*

Ensure HR support is aligned to business objectives and the HR strategy

*

Input and lead on implementing improved systems of working and continuous improvement initiatives within the HR team

*

Support the Senior HR management team in delivering change management programmes including restructures and changes to working practices

*

Assist managers to embed an engagement culture within their respective Unit

*

Coach, train and guide managers in HR procedures, policies, strategy and employee relations

*

Establish and maintain effective key relationships within units and business management teams

*

Provide and analyse management information to support business requirements and improve the performance of HR

*

Develop self by attending employment law/HR best practice seminars and events

*

Actively promote good employee relations between colleagues, managers and employees

*

Actively participate in joint meetings between union and management, collect actions and follow through on agreed activity

*

Provide reactive and planned support for employees across Heathrow North and ensure employees are aware of how to obtain access to HR advice e.g. surgeries.

Qualifications:

Education:

*

CIPD or equivalent qualification preferable

*

Evidence of continual professional development in HR related subjects

Work Experience:

*

Extensive experience of managing complex employee relations issues

*

Experience of managing change programmes (including TUPE) within a blue collar. environment ideal

*

Coaching, guiding and training managers on policy, procedure and best practice

*

Ability to work with high volumes in a fast paced environment

*

Managing and developing self

*

Understanding of HR processes and key HR ‘levers’

Skills & Knowledge:

*

Statutory procedures and best practice in relation to managing employee relations cases

*

Delivering work of a high quality (in particular written communications) and implementing high standards in delivery

*

Process orientated/methodical

*

High levels of customer service skills

*

Highly effective communicator at all levels

*

Good negotiation skills

*

Good presenter

Experienced at conflict resolution
