ABOUT THE ROLE
Job purpose:

Design electrical installations in accordance with all legal, statutory and contractual technical requirements for nominated projects and provide electrical engineering support to other business functions.

Key Tasks:

• Produce electrical installation designs while ensuring that the technical solution is fit for purpose and meet or exceed our customers’ requirements while working within the allocated electrical engineering budget for each project.
• The majority of Land systems operate at UK standard voltage, so the primary tasks always involve designing single and 3 phase systems
• Production of electrical engineering drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.
• To work effectively within the project team and other areas of the business.
• Conduct peer checks of electrical drawings.
• Support the CE marking of in-house manufactured electrical equipment.
• Generate test specifications, schedules and reports.
• Work effectively with all disciplines to ensure effective integration of electrical systems and components within mechanical restraints to ensure a defined electrical build standard.
• Produce procurement specifications for major bought out equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the electrical production team and the electrical field service engineers and remote teams.


ABOUT YOU
Experience:
This position requires an electrical engineer with experience of electrical installations and communication systems within an electrical design environment. Electrical design engineers with experience in the building industry suitably qualified to the IEE wiring regulations would be suitable.

Key Skills/Competencies:

• They shall be personable and shall develop open and honest relationships across all levels of the business.
• Must be able to work effectively on their own or as part of a team.
• Must be competent in the production of schematics, wiring diagrams and general electrical drawings (single and three phase) using the AutoCAD Electrical software package.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal with a good knowledge of the Microsoft Office software package, i.e. word, excel, powerpoint and outlook.
