Job Description

Instrument panel build-up consisting of set up, operation, analysis, inspection testing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex production electronic components ans systems including custom avionics installations to ensure compliance with Piper/FAA regulations. Conduct a wide variety of complex avionics tests on electronic systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure.

Required Skills

Job Functions:

* Work from and follow process specifications, work orders, travelers, station paperwork, blueprints, rework/rejection tags, schedules, Aircraft Production Orders, schematics, layout & modifications sheets, engineering orders, Piper Production Spec (PPS), Piper Material Spec (PMS), Material Review Board, and verbal/written instruction
* Plan method and sequence of operations to acquire data and set up required electronic data acquisition, test, and measurement equipment and accessories
* Install assembled components such as electronic equipment, radios, radar, integrated circuits, harnesses, gauges, and dials into panels
* Monitor lights, displays, and operating features of test equipment such as radios, receivers, and displays to detect malfunctions and ensure integrity of components
* Diagnose cause of equipment malfunctioning and adjust, repair, or replace faulty components
* Enter information to update test data base and to maintain records such as electronic parts inventory and manuals for equipment maintenance and calibrations
* Report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to Supervisor/
* Scrutinize every facet of job and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to Supervisor

Required Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and one to three years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
