Job description

• Ensure that the manage system (Safety & Compliance Management System) is properly implemented, maintained and continually reviewed, and improved in your organization

• Maintain overview of the company’s Safety & Compliance performance in all operational areas, and an effective system for identification of hazards, risk evaluation and risk management

• Responsible for producing, implementing and managing an effective and continuously improving risk and performance based safety and compliance monitoring system

• Ensure implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the planned Norwegian Group consolidated management system, including the associated policies and procedures

• Actively promoting, and proactive improving safety and compliance management and the Norwegian Just Culture across the Norwegian organization


• Experience in Airline Operations, technical, flight or ground operations

• Experience in current regulations such as but not limited to Commission Regulation (EU) No 965/2012 on air operations & REGULATION (EU) No 376/2014

• Experience in the preparation of safety risk analyses, and conducting risk management processes

• Experience from investigation of incidents, accidents and human factors

• Experience from safety and quality audits

• Excellent understanding of principles and techniques for risk-based safety management

• Be current on the development of Commercial Airline acts, regulations and best practice within aviation risk management

• Be the inspirator, safety / quality & compliance advocate and communicator for an effective safety & compliance management in all operational areas

• Be responsible for implementing a unified approach for risk-based safety& compliance management in all operational areas

• Be responsible to ensure effective safety management at our external product and service providers

• Be responsible for maintaining the company’s risk register, quality control of entries and actions follow-up

• Be responsible for initiation and follow-up of internal occurrences / accident investigations

• Documented analytical skills and qualifications

Previous post holder experience (EASA Form 4) is an advantage.

The Director Safety & Compliance is appointed by the Accountable Manager, and must be accepted by National Aviation Authorities before appointment and needs to have the ability to hold EASA Form 4.

The position is fulltime, daytime with office located at Fornebu, however some travel should be expected.
