Job Summary

Directs the development of company market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s), including product strategy definition, requirements analysis, competitor analysis and price-to win- analysis. Monitors the development of business plans and product positioning in the marketplace. Reduces broad concepts and business strategies into structured product marketing plans. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Establishes pricing strategies. Interacts with engineering, and program management to existing product(s) or product line(s). Leads new product definition and business plans with joint departments. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Desired Attributes

Familiarity with US Navy SPAWAR MIDS Program Office/International Program Office (MPO/IPO), US Navy PMA-201 (Pax River) and N-98 (Pentagon). Experience with Special Program Office(s) (SPOs) across the services. Knowledge of the functions of advanced research labs such as AFRL NRL and ONR. Working knowledge of Air Armament Center and Weapons SPO at Eglin AFB and ACC at Langley would be an asset. Working relationships with platform and weapon OEMs: Boeing, LMCO, Raytheon and NGC is also desired.

Job Responsibilities

Develop strategic planning for enterprise and organizational development initiatives: Talent Management; Performance Management; Change Management; Training; Organizational Design; Due diligence concerning Integration of Acquisitions.

*

Includes budgetary responsibilities: Update, reallocate, and prioritize based upon budget requirements; Forecast budget for the fiscal year; Control internal and operating budget, as well as other expenditures.

*

Collaborate with life cycle value stream leaders and sales leaders to develop a year-term forecast and marketing for the future.

*

Identify customer needs and recommend customer pricing accordingly: Identify what is most relevant for a product system; Make recommendations to the life cycle value stream leaders concerning product investment.

*

Direct and coordinate activities of businesses development including but not limited to Pursuit, Order, Capture (POC) activities, market shaping activities, competitive analysis activities and long term and short term market strategies.

*

Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, monthly orders forecasting and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing growth plans.

*

Direct and coordinate organization’s financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.

*

Oversee 4-10 direct reports: Identify employee weaknesses so that they can be improved; Select development programs for employees to strengthen their knowledge and skills.

*

Identify, create, and manage business relationship with select companies to develop solutions and/or create complementary products/services.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience

Must be able to obtain an active US DoD Security Clearance –

Preference given to candidates who already have a US DoD clearance

Muswt be a US Citizen
