Our client is a highly successful global Aerospace company and are looking for a Desktop Manager / Endpoint Manager.  This is a newly created role located in Bournemouth but will include global travel initially and then on ad hoc basis. As Desktop Manager / Endpoint Manager you would be looking after our clients Laptops and Desktops estate.  You will be required to establish and maintain a global service providing endpoint builds, configurations, standards, application deployments and a strategic roadmap for the endpoint estate. Provision of a governance framework for managing the global desktop estate and overseeing the centrally managed tools and services to maintain consistent endpoint standards that also accommodate unique BU/site requirements. The successful candidate should have worked in a similar role working for a large company with various business units ideally globally.

 

Salary:  Highly competitive salary plus car allowance (£6.6K), bonus 15% and excellent benefits including 12% pension

 

As the Desktop Manager / Endpoint Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Degree qualified, preferably computer sciences related, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Extensive experience of managing complex global desktop environments
  • Domain expert in one or more IT technologies e.g. Windows O/S, SCCM, Antivirus products
  • Experience of leading technical teams and supporting similar environments

 

As the Desktop Manager / Endpoint Manager your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Develop and implement global configuration baselines and standards for the desktop environment
  • Development and deployment of SCCM and other tools for the global desktop environment
  • Ownership of application packaging, endpoint builds, software distribution and endpoint patching regimes
  • Define and report on OLAs and KPIs for the global service, including remediation of vulnerabilities
  • Coordinate testing and deployment of new/upgraded software tools and applications
  • Auditing and reporting of compliance status across the desktop estate
  • Manage the transition to a Virtual Desktop estate, where applicable
  • Managing centrally controlled desktop services including Anti-Virus, USB Control and Application Whitelisting, O/S builds and compatibility
  • Provide escalation and support services for regional End User Services teams
  • Define and maintain the standard hardware specifications/configurations for endpoint devices
