About the role

An opportunity exists within our Melbourne Ground Operations department for a Day of Operations Planner (DOPs). The DOPs team delivers the best guest experience through the allocation of optimal manpower support to the Airside operations.

The DOPs team is responsible for the effective allocation of team members to meet operational coverage outcomes for safety, service delivery, and OTP. The team is responsible for managing ad hoc coverage requirements on the basis of schedule disruptions or team member absences and continuous liaison with our Airside Managers to ensure operational needs are met.

Please note this is an operational role on a rotating shift roster pattern 365 days a year, with shifts beginning as early as 4AM and finishing as late as 1AM.

Please note DOPs is part of a team of Planners that work on a rotating shift roster pattern which may change from time to time to suit the operational requirements of the business.

About you

We are seeking high performing team members who hold safety and service procedures in the highest regard. You will have great communication skills, be a proven decision maker who can manage tasks with conflicting deadlines. Your great attention to detail will be complimented by your aptitude for problem solving whilst working under pressure.

You will be capable of developing and managing relationships with line managers, duty managers and supervisors as well as other Airport team members. Successful candidates will have the ability to achieve a cost-effective balance between allocation of resources for training, leave and operational coverage.

What you’ll need

* Working knowledge of parameters for rostering within an operational environment.

* Knowledge of airport operations pertaining to resource allocation, impact of flight schedules and other environmental factors on resource planning and airport based processes.

* Familiarity with aviation regulations (e.g. CASA, CAA, DOTARS, etc.) highly regarded.

* Ability to meet a 365 day, near 24x7 shift work roster.

* Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

* The ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
