Duties for this role include, but are not limited to, the design, modeling, configuration, testing, and installation of pre-packaged or user-developed databases. Document database backup recoveries, capacity requirements, and security plans. Administers, maintains, and implements changes to existing databases to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Performs research and analysis on processes, applications, systems, and data to identify functional requirements for application or system design.

* Consults with customers to clarify and refine requirements.

* Interprets and translates requirements into functional specifications.

* Develops and executes tests to validate system functionality against
specifications.

* Must be able to successfully develop, plan and establish database performance baselines; monitoring performance trends to identify and correct problems; and customizing existing applications for the life of the project.

* Develop and maintain departmental performance metrics, key performance indicators, performance dashboard, and supplier portal.

* Develop and implement reporting solutions using industry standard business intelligence methodologies.

* Write well-designed, testable code adhering to defined standards and patterns.

* Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, databases, business intelligence tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment

* Maintains the highest ethical personal and professional standards.

* Other projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

*

Must have advanced SQL/Oracle database design and administration knowledge, be able to write scripts, query the system, and generate customer reports.

*

Excellent working knowledge of SQL Server 2008 R2 (or later), including Database Schemas, T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Views, User Defined Functions (UDFs).

* Advanced knowledge of database structure and theory.

* Expertise in the following languages is required: SQL, Visual Basic.

*

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 2+ years’ professional related experience or internship.

*

Must be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a public trust position (if required for the position).

*

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (if required for the position).

*

Must be able to work weekends, other shifts and overtime as required.

*

The essential physical requirements of the position will be reviewed with the applicant during the interview.

Some travel will be required.

*

Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction.

*

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.

Preferred Qualifications:

*

Expertise in using MS Visual Studio (2012 or higher) a plus.

*

Should be knowledgeable in virtual collaboration, web development tools, web application database development, Web Content Management Systems, Web Standards, SharePoint, Wikis, Blogs, Web Security, Portals.

* Expertise in any two or more of these languages is preferred: T-SQL, Java, Java Script, HTML, CSS, C#, JQuery, JSON.

*

Expertise in any one of these languages is a plus: Python, R

*

Ability to develop code in an iterative manner (design, code, test, review with customer, repeat), with very quick turnaround.
