Data Science Engineer

The Data Science Engineer is responsible for developing data management solutions as well as coding optimization algorithms to support the development initiatives and strategies of the RMS team to optimize all revenue streams. She/he will be engaged in contributing to value added activities that generate practical solutions to complex business problems driving improvement in business decisions.

Responsibilities

* Lead the data collection, data cleansing, data transformation, data analysis and data distribution that will be used as inputs for all mathematical models and tools developed by the RMS team;

* Build and deploy streaming batch data pipelines capable of processing, organizing, cleaning, transforming and storing megabytes of data quickly and reliably;

* In collaboration with IT, product and revenue management teams and your peers, design and build data-forward solutions that will be exploited to develop data science techniques to optimize revenue;

* Develop data catalog and data validation to ensure clarity and correctness of key business metrics
Work closely with domain experts to understand the business and ensure that all information required and needed to build high accurate optimization models is collected;

* Bring industry best practices to data processes to create time efficiencies, so team can broaden efforts to other focus areas;

* Work alongside with your peers to design and build rich data visualizations to communicate complex ideas to internal and external team members;

* Assist in the design and the coding of highly complex algorithms and statistical predictive models to solve business problems;

* Provide technical leadership to the RMS team by anticipating and reviewing problem sets, proposing data models and prediction models;

* Maintain clear and clean documentations on your activities.

Requirements

* Professional experience understanding data warehouse structures, handling large data, building and deploying data pipelines and create data models;

* Natural strategic thinker who is comfortable with complex data, and is willing to enjoy discovering patterns in disparate information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions;

* Ability to simplify highly complex analyses and output into terms that are easily accessible and impactful in both written and verbal formats;

* Hands-on experience with statistical and data mining software packages and a knowledge of a variety of statistical modeling as well as their practical application;

* Very strong experience in writing SQL statements;

* Ability to analyze data to identify deliverables, gaps and inconsistencies;

* Ability to work independently on projects, with very tight deadlines, under uncertain and changing environments;

* 5+ years experiences for Bachelors’ degree candidates and 3+ years experiences for Master’s degree candidates;

* Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, Statistics (with strong background in programming) or similar quantitative discipline; PhD is an asset.
