Corporate Communications Manager

Regional Express (Rex) is Australia’s largest independent regional airline operating a fleet of more than 50 Saab 340 aircraft on some 1,500 weekly flights to 60 destinations throughout all states in Australia.

Expressions of interest are sought from qualified and motivated individuals to undertake the role of Corporate Communications Manager based in Mascot.

Reporting
Reporting to the General Manager – Corporate Services, the ideal candidate will need to be all-rounder in internal communication, public affairs, media relations, and events management.

Position Responsibility
As the Corporate Communications Manager, your primary responsibilities include but not limited to:

•Coordination of Regional Express Group’s external communications (press/media), which includes:
-liaising with the press;
-preparing press releases and/or organising press conferences; and
-organising interviews between the press and the Group’s spokesperson.
•Respond to media calls and attend to such issues after hours when required.
•Oversight of Customer Advocacy role, working closely with Customer Contact Centre and Airports in all related areas of customer service including management of the active tracking and resolution of reported incidents.
•Oversight of the Group’s advertising campaigns and brand awareness including creative work.
•Part of the company’s incident/disruption management system to ensure customers and the media are effectively communicated with during significant incidents or disruptions.
•Plan, manage, and coordinate company events.
•Management of corporate communications team.
•Travel across the Rex network when required

Essential Selection Criteria
The successful candidate must:
•Have demonstrated management experience
•Possess exceptional written and communications skills.
•Have the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
•Be able to respond to afterhours call and attend to any issues as required.
•Be able to travel across the Rex network as required.

Preferred Selection Criteria
Experience in public relations, communications, advertising, and customer service is desirable.
