Contracts Specialist

Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. Operations and Supply Chain employees have the opportunity to network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality, and efficiency of our operations worldwide.

The Contracts Specialist position will have the responsibility of drafting various types of contractual agreements, interpreting terms, analyzing risk, and obtaining approvals from cross-functional organizations. It is expected that this individual will complete all tasks in compliance with company policies and procedures all while meeting the demand of our internal customers. Other duties for this position may include, assisting with lean initiatives and process improvement, refining/defining internal processes, and the updating of team resources.

Primary Responsibilities:
* The role will focus on the drafting, negotiating, interpretation, and administration of contractual agreements for the procurement of aerospace components and/or services
* The role requires a strong understanding of contractual language and terms as they apply to the aerospace industry, all the while, the individual will have to have the business acumen to support our internal customers
* The individual will manage a subset of contractual agreements based on the overall business strategy of our supply chain
* The role will require the individual to provide clear and concise contractual analysis for use in seeking internal approvals
* The individual will be expected to support team initiatives and process improvements
* The individual will be expected to develop a thorough understanding of our policies and procedures in support of our business demands and internal customer requests
* The individual must exhibit ethical business behaviors at all times

Qualification: Basic Qualifications
* The individual should possess 3-5 years working experience in administering contracts with a proven record of accomplishment, performance achievement, growth, and increased level of responsibility
* The individual must be able to draft various contractual agreements including but not limited to; Non-Disclosure Agreements, Master Terms Agreements, and Purchase Agreements
* The individual must be able to interpret and analyze contractual language and terms
* The individual must be able to articulate the risk associated with a contract to various internal functional organizations
* This individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills to allow him/her to coordinate across a diverse cross-functional team
* This individual must have the ability to organize and prioritize a high-volume workload, and, above all, the ability to learn quickly and think logically through complex contractual problem sets
* The individual must have the ability to adhere to internal policies and procedures and to seek and obtain the requisite internal, contractual approvals
* The individual should also have a very strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in negotiating commercial and legal contractual language and terms
* Experience in, or exposure to, supply chain management
* Ability to lead in a collaborative team environment
* Experience in, or exposure to, lean initiative

Education:
* Bachelors degree required
* Masters Degree or Juris Doctor preferred
* Contract certifications are welcome but not required
