Summary:

Performs assigned tasks in the set up and operation of equipment to rebuild parts required for further processing in returning to service components and engines for which the Repair Station is rated, according to their ability and certification to perform such work, following all health and safety practices and requirements.

This position requires for

* May conduct a preliminary evaluation in “as received condition” of any part delivered for repair documenting the state of preservation and apparent defects.
* Upon completion of a specific task the incumbent will maintain notes and sign off the paperwork/records using his/her initials indicating the item is ready for handoff/turnover to other repair station personnel.
* Responsible for keeping a clean and orderly work area and ensuring that FOD preventions practices are followed in their work area.
* Inform and advise employees in lower rated jobs to perform specific assignments to accomplish repair/overhaul.
* Maintain DAI image and relate in responsible manner to customers, manufacturers and government reps.
* Utilize electronic databases in order to retrieve information regarding aircraft parts inventory, manufacturing models, serial numbers/pertinent information to ensure correct engine documentation on the tags and clearance check forms. Uses carts and racks in order to transport turbine engine parts.
* Notify supervisor regarding any discrepancies such as improper routing, blue print and diagram variances, or improper tag documentation as needed.

Qualifications

Experience
Should have one to three years (1-3), with three to five (3-5) years preferred of related experience in related area, including actual experience and training in measuring instruments and gauges as outlined above as well as mathematics, blueprints, etc.

Qualifications, Specific Skills, and Competencies (Including Licenses and Certifications):
Required:
* Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally with peers, clients, and public. Ability to get along with co-workers and peers.
* Maintenance of regular attendance and punctuality within customary tolerance.
* High school graduate preferred. Must understand shop math, blueprint reading and some knowledge of geometrics.
* Must be able to coat a set of two test panels and three bond specimens, consecutively, in one continuous operational sequence, using the same set up and procedures so that the coatings on all five pieces in the set, pass the bond strength test and cut test (no failures).
* Must be able to read and interpret decimals, fractions, blueprints, manuals, directives, drawings and some basic knowledge of metals and its properties.

* Previous experience in a QC Inspector role preferred.
* Shop Work: exerting up to (25-50) pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
* Work involves walking, sitting, driving or standing for brief periods of time.
* Near clarity of vision is required for close up engine and chart/document analysis.
* Reaching: extending hands and arms in any direction.
* Handling: seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with hand(s). Fingers are involved to the extent that they are an extension of the hand, such as to turn a switch or shift gears such as picking, pinching or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
* Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to convey detailed spoken instruction to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.
* Hearing: perceiving the nature of sounds by ear.

* Engine shop environments, including: hoists, heavy parts, hazardous chemicals and fluids with use of precision instruments, stringent housekeeping and work area safety regulations and practices to observe and maintain.
* Environment may include brief periods of elevated noise exposure due to engine testing.
* May have occasional exposure to outside weather condition
