Job Summary & Essential Functions:
Ducommun is a global provider of manufacturing and engineering services, developing innovative electronic, engineered and structural solutions for complex applications in aerospace, defense and industrial markets. The Ducommun Commodity Manager is a member of the Ducommun (DCO) corporate strategic supply chain management team and reports to Senior Director or Vice President of Supply Chain.
The Commodity Manager is responsible for commodity supply chain management process, actions and results to support meeting customer service, sales revenue, profitable growth, cash flow from operation across DCO including Performance Centers. Key responsibilities include:

Execute commodity savings year over year – drive material cost reduction - capture ‘One Ducommun’ spend
*
Lead development and execution commodity strategy aligned to business goals and growth, support key technology road map to support Products and Services.
*
Lead and support commodity key negotiations, long term agreement and transition management to improvement vendor performance: cost reduction, quality, delivery, terms and conditions, working capital , capacity and lead time etc. to support business growth and supply stability
*
Lead and responsible for comprehensive supplier assessment & capabilities analysis and vendor performance through quarterly scorecard management to drive improvement (RCCA) and corresponding actions
*
Support all escalated vendor performance issue for delivery, quality to support Performance Center flawless operations and cost recovery through COPQ process
*
Lead supplier material replenishment process and execution collaborating across Ducommun Performance Centers towards inventory strategy and improvement to benefit cash flow from operation.
*
Accountable for leading and supporting Ducommun AOP KPI in terms of cost reduction (PPV) across performance centers to support Sales and Profitable and Cash Flow.
*
Partner with supply chain management team at site level to improve PO administration – efficiency and accuracy across ERP in DCO.
*
Collaborate with program management, engineering stakeholders and supply chain leaders at performance centers to support flawless NPI (New Product Introduction) launches by strategic supplier selection, targeted BOM cost alignment and targeted NPI material margins
*
Perform senior level supplier management functions: ensure supplier policy compliance, perform trend and market analysis, and take proactive actions.

Promote and demonstrate the guiding principles, mission, vision and values of Ducommun.
*
Provide for selection, training, development, succession and performance evaluation of the commodity team and its members.
*
Promote and drive culture change to support buy-in and success of projects.
Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications
*
Must be a proven leader and team player, with a track record in change management
*
Strong team builder, mentor, and coach at all levels
*
Leadership in supply chain management, operation manufacturing or associated operation engineering excellent in Aerospace or Automotive industries.
*
Master’s degree preferred in supply chain management, business or related field preferred.
*
Minimum 6-10 years of world class manufacturing and supply chain principles experience including commodity management, material, material flow management, inventory management and strategy goal deployment.
*
Demonstrated team building and talent development
*
Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, interpersonal, facilitation, written and verbal skills.
*
Functional ERP system experience.
*
Ability to lead problem solving and root cause analysis.
*
ISM or APICS certification desirable.
