Commissioning and Service Engineer

Shorterm Group are working on behalf of a specialist telecommunications company who have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Commissioning and Service Engineer to work in the fast growing emergency assist/on call systems and paging equipment within various sectors including the health and public sector.

The job role will include installation and commissioning of addressable call systems within existing and new build sites as well as servicing and maintaining in all environments including care homes, public and private hospitals (due to the nature of the role all potential candidates must be able to pass as DBS - Criminal Record Check. The role will involve a lot of interaction with key personnel within the client base so a need to be able to communicate effectively and be presentable at all times is required.

You will be required to have extensive telecommunications experience, preferably within a similar environment both in the installation and commissioning of bespoke telecommunications equipment. A workling knowledge of software, electrical systems and IT Networking is required and in return the client offers the opportunity to grow your career within this fast moving business. There is an opportunity for the individual long term to grow into a managerial position. Please see below for a list of core skills required.

You will need to have a full clean driving license with ability to use your own car (mileage expenses paid),
Ability to work away from home, however generally only a daily commute.
CSCS Card (or other site health & safety certificate),
Customer Service and Field Experience,
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office such as, Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio etc.
Good communication skills, ability to encourage and motivate others and the ability to resolve issues in a professional manner.

The role is initially on a temporary basis for 16 weeks and the client is looking ideally for someone on a permanent basis and should you be successful in the role this role could be permanent.
