Job Title: Cleaning Bay Operative

Purpose of the role:

This position will require the incumbent to work in the engine cleaning bay and water treatment facility to ensure engine parts are cleaned to both company and customer procedures. Includes some maintenance procedures.

Key responsibilities and duties:

Under take the replenishment of chemicals;

Completing duties within the water treatment plant;

Use processes to remove e.g. paint, carbon deposits, grease, oil or dirt from parts as required using appropriate cleaning methods, chemicals and rinses and prepare parts and surfaces for subsequent treatment processes;

Improving Quality (IQ) standards are adhered;

Ensure Health and Safety standards are adhered to when using chemicals;

Ensure the maintenance regime is carried out so that any equipment or facilities are safe and satisfactory to use, rectifying any unsafe conditions within the jobholder’s capability;

Conduct all work in accordance with company policies, health and safety procedures, quality procedures, manufactures and customer specification and industry regulations;

Complete all documents related to the work being performed;

Adherence to our Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and all associated Business Manuals.

Competencies: (e = essential / d = desirable)

Core: 

Good written and oral communication skills; (e)

Ability to manage priorities in a busy working environment (e)

Functional:  

Proficient in the use of computers, familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and integrated systems considered an asset; (e)

Must be willing to walk to various areas throughout the facility throughout the day.

Requirement to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) on a regular basis, such as safety glasses and safety shoes etc; (e)

The role holder will also be required to undertake any other duties within their capability and as required by the business. (e)

Familiarity with aerospace quality procedures and documentation including process documentation; (d)

Preventative maintenance. (d)

Organisational Relationships:

Reports to the Repair Services Manager.

Experience:

Experience of working within an industrial cleaning environment (d)

Working with harmful substances (d)
