The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is seeking an experienced Pilot to lead members of the PSNI’s Air Support Unit (ASU).

The post-holder will captain aircraft in the single-pilot role day and night, under visual meteorological conditions (VMC) and instrument meteorological conditions (IMC). You will ensure the safe, efficient and effective use of the ASU’s aircraft, consistent with the procedures, regulations and limitations laid down in the Police Air Operator’s Manual (PAOM). You will be required to ensure that all the ASU’s maintenance and documentation is complete and liaise with other bodies both within and outside the PSNI.

You are an experienced pilot, preferably with previous experience of flying in an emergency services role. You have a keen eye for maintaining aircraft and completing the required documentation before and after flights. You are committed to cultivating your professional skills.

We are looking for a candidate who holds a Commercial ESA Pilot’s Licence with an unrestricted Class 1 Medical and multi-engine single pilot instrument rating. You have 2000 hours of pilot flying experience and are used to working with non-pilot crew members in flight.
