Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Catering Department Manager will oversee and manage the operational activities of the department in accordance with established policies and procedures. In this role, the manager will be responsible for daily/weekly/monthly reports; determining the work assignments of the department staff (to include: Unit Managers and Catering Agents); provide coaching and career development to staff; correcting non-compliant behavior and imposing disciplinary action (as required); and managing warehouse inventory (supply in/supply out). Piedmont department managers must understand the corporate culture, policies and procedures, and remain focused on meeting corporate goals while taking measures to implement these into daily work routines. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Two (2) years of airline hub experience (or) three (3) years of airline management experience in non-hub location (with a strong knowledge of the AOA environment)

* Proven success as a “Team Leader” with the ability to preplan manpower and equipment

* Proven ability to manage budgets, facilities and equipment

* Ability to work independently, set and meet own goals/deadlines

* Ability to work well with all levels of management and support staff

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Able to defuse conflicts among subordinate employees

* Familiarity with MS Office Suite

* Flexible schedule

* Strong change management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor degree in aviation, business, operations, or similar

* Previous management experience in airline hub environment

* Prior experience with internal controls processes for accountable items

Work Environment:

* Airport ramp environment (subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise level)

* Warehouse environment

* Schedule may include: weekends, nights, holidays and/or irregular shifts

* Standard office environment (use of computers and other office equipment)

* Fast paced rapidly changing environment

Physical Requirements:

* Lifting items of up to 25 pounds
