Dublin Airport Authority (daa) employs 3,300 people at its Irish airports and has a further 800 people working for its international businesses. We have a specialist Finance Shared Service centre based in the National Technology Business Park in Limerick (directly beside the University of Limerick) where over 70 employees are based in various teams specialising in Employee Services & Payroll, Time and Attendance Management, Accounts Payable, Billing and Revenue Assurance, Financial Reporting, Customer Service etc. The campus is located just 6 km east of Limerick City on the Dublin Road and parking is available onsite

This role

This Capital Accountant role sits as part of a wider Financial Reporting team of 9 based in Limerick and reports directly to the Financial Reporting Manager. You will be responsible for managing the centralised fixed assets and project costing functions, this includes technical fixed assets reporting requirements at month end and subsequent reporting. The reminder of your time will involve project costing related duties as you will have significant interaction with the wider business across all Capital expenditure projects. You will play a key role in the company over the coming years as we have a significant Capital Investment Plan in place.

This permanent role will suit a talented accountancy professional with circa 2-4 years’ experience looking to progress your career in one of Irelands largest organisations. We will support you as you progress through your professional accountancy exams and it is anticipated that there will be opportunities to progress internally for someone who comes in and performs well in the role.

Qualifications

Essential

* Part qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA)
* Minimum two years accountancy experience
* Excellent interpersonal, influencing, negotiating and leadership skills required and proven effectiveness at working directly with senior management

Preferred

* Experience working in industry advantageous
* Experience using Oracle advantageous but not essential
* Strong Excel Skills

Responsibilities

Ensure Fixed Assets and WIP records are maintained accurately in accordance with agreed policies and procedures ensuring that accounting records reflect the business activity

* Review, sign-off and ensure that all required accounting transactions are accurate & correctly processed (depreciation, disposals, additions)
* Ensure timely and accurate posting of additions and cost adjustments from Project Costing to Fixed Assets
* Preparation of the Fixed Asset Note and circulation to finance
* Preparation of depreciation budget

Manage the Work in Progress function ensuring accuracy of Oracle Project Costing

* Create new projects on Oracle, liaise with and support the business on project creation, updates to projects and spend reporting
* Monthly reconciliation of Project Costing to General Ledger and Project Costing to Fixed Assets
* Book capitalised interest and capitalised labour and monthly accruals
* Deliver accurate reporting on capital expenditure and depreciation from Oracle GL, Oracle Fixed Assets, Oracle Project Costing and Hyperion Planning
