GET TO KNOW THE ROLE:

We have a rare opportunity to join our Virgin Australia Group Business Resilience team.

This is an unusual role, challenging but extremely rewarding, working across the VA Group to transform and influence it’s capability to deal with a variety of crisis or business disruption events, ensuring our ability to recover quickly with minimal impact.

This role covers all aspects of Business Resilience including Emergency Response, Business Continuity Planning, Contingency Planning, Organisational Resilience, and Crisis Management.

GET TO KNOW YOUR DAY TO DAY:

* Develop and maintain a variety of crisis and business disruption procedures, processes, systems, frameworks, facilities, and tools.

* Use a risk-based approach to assess threats to the business and develop contingency and continuity plans in response.

* Develop and deliver briefing and training sessions regarding Business Resilience to grow awareness and capability.

* Develop and conduct a range of exercises and rehearsals, including a full activation corporate exercise.

* Conducting post exercise/post event reports and continuous health checks to develop reporting and audit activities.

* Maintain the Crisis Management Centre in an ever-ready state, including its facilities, equipment, procedures, kits, and staffing.

* Be part of the Business Resilience on-call roster with time off in lieu) and ready to respond within 60 minutes in a crisis.

* Regular duty travel – primarily domestically within Australia but also internationally from time-to-time.

LET’S GET TO KNOW YOU:

* Experience working within a crisis management or crisis coordination centre, humanitarian or community response agency, police/military, or similar.

* Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver procedures, processes, presentations, and reports.

* Demonstrated critical thinking experience in solving complex problems in a high pressure or crisis environment.

* Experience in leading project or work streams, or chairing Working Groups or Project Teams.

* Strong experience building relationships and partnering with key internal stakeholders, partners, government agencies, etc. to be seen as a trusted advisor.

* A team player able to be part of the BR on-call roster and respond within 60 minutes to the Crisis Management Centre or to travel to the site of a crisis.

* Personally resilient with excellent interpersonal, consensus and influencing skills.

* Ability to be frank and fearless and speak truth to power to drive continuous improvement.

* A super self-starter who won’t wait to be asked.
