Business Engineer for Ground and Airport Processes 80100

Position description

Together with the Lufthansa Group Ground Operations, SWISS Ground Operations assures the worldwide ground handling for Swiss International Air Lines Ltd. As Group, we manage, coordinate, plan, design and ensure delivery and control of all airport related customer processes, through all customer touch points on airports worldwide.

Your Duties

* Leads (or participates in) ground handling and airport process related projects within the areas of:

- Aircraft handling
- Passenger handling
- Baggage handling
- Airport processe

* Based on station performance, identifies any pitfalls and areas of continuous improvement within ground operations and establishes / implements the changes
* Review of existing and development of new or improved customer oriented ground and airport processes.
* Analyses and evaluates new handling concepts and possibilities
* Leads and or supports projects and/or (re-) design within Ground Operations together with internal and external partners as well as with suppliers and airport authorities.
* Participates in working groups related to business engineering in all aspects of airport handling (services & logistics)
* Within the Matrix organization, supports the Lufthansa Group (LHG) Process Management Experts in the designing and implementation of Process management processes
* Drives documentation of working processes, establishes guidelines and instructions
* Coaches, supports and coordinates the introduction of new handling processes
* Closely liaises with other SWISS Ground Operation teams as well as within the LHG
* Ensures compliance with SWISS and other LHG Airlines defined procedures and policies
* Coordinates “Continuous Improvement” (using notably the Kaizen methods) activities for SWISS Ground Operations

Requirements

* University degree or similar
* Robust and proven experience in the airline industry with an emphasis on aircraft ground operation handling activities
* High grade of analytical skills
* Proven track record in project management
* International working and leadership experience
* Oral and written fluency in English and German
* High degree of proficiency in PC skills as well as in the usage of MS Office
* Self-dependent, open minded, reliable, flexible and self-confident
