In your role, you will:

- Be the Technical Lead for your projects and be accountable for their timely execution and completion.
- Achieve the operational goals of your team, such as the electrical design deliverables, data acquisition system and instrumentation selection, technical reports and ultimately perform commissioning and delivery of these systems to meet customer requirements.
- Establish and deploy strategic operational improvements, objectives and oversee technical team goals.
- Implement and follow up on strategic improvements, problem solving and key technical initiatives.
- Participate in talent acquisition initiatives.
- Ensure team members’ training and development.
- Check and approve the engineering documents produced by the Electrical design team.
- Technically support and guide the electrical team that provide test rig support.
- Manage technical risks and propose innovative industrial solutions to resolve design challenges.
- Work collaboratively with the Experimental Shop (unionized employees).

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,

- You have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering.
- Active Membre of the Ordre de Ingénieurs du Québec, OIQ.
- You have minimum of 15 years of experience as an electrical controls designer combined with commissioning and/or field equipment startup.
- You have extensive experience in automation, controls, PLCs and industrial computing.
- The ideal candidate should also have 3-5 years of experience as a team lead or equivalent role.
- The candidate must demonstrate initiative, leadership, a strong sense of responsibilities and integrity, as well as an excellent practical and technical judgment.
- You have experience and knowledge of aerospace electrical engineering, such as aircraft wiring, avionic systems, aircraft databus protocols as well as data acquisition systems and instrumentation are desirable.
- You have strong communication skills in French and English, both written and spoken, are essential.
