Avionics Technicians

MPI have a requirement for  experienced Avionics Technician’s who are interested to work on a MoD site as a Avionics Technical Instructor at MOD Lyneham, Chippenham, Wiltshire. SN15 4XX

This contract is for a minimum of 6 months, working 37 hours per week for 44.4 weeks per year.

The successful candidate will be responsible to the Avionics Training Manager for classroom and practical instruction on a topic within the Avionics discipline and various allied subjects. Ancillary duties include lesson preparation and the production of training support material. Responsibilities comprise the control and supervision of students including the application of Health and Safety and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.

Previous experience as a Trainer/Instructor is preferred but they are prepared to give training to candidates who have come from a experienced Avionics background.

Candidates must have served a recognised apprenticeship or a relevant alternative period of training and have obtained an ONC, BTEC or NVQ in the Avionics Trade Discipline and should have at least 5 years practical experience in their trade.

 £26.60 per hour LTD

£21.13 per hour PAYE

GENERAL

Candidates must have served a recognised aeronautical engineering apprenticeship or a relevant alternative period of training and possess an appropriate National Qualification and have at least 5 years experience in that trade or specialisation.

Applicants will be required to undertake a trade related test and deliver a 10-15 minute lecturette at the interview stage.

The successful applicant will be asked to apply for an Enhanced DBS Certificate which will be actioned on site after a job offer is made and they will be required to complete MOD BPSS Security Clearance forms.
