Job Summary

Maintains and troubleshoots communication/navigation instrument systems in accordance with technical data requirements. Performs tasks under minimum supervision. Coordinates maintenance activities with Mechanic II shop personnel as required.

Principal Accountabilities

Maintains A-10 communication, navigation and instrument systems.
Performs line maintenance related to aircraft servicing, pre-flight inspections, post-flight inspections, trouble-shooting/repair & replacing aircraft system components to include: Electronic Counter Measure components, integrated avionics components, perform PACER WARE, SERENE BYTE messaging and reprogramming of avionics systems, and load ECM pods.
Operates ground support equipment.
Performs operational checks of assigned systems.
Open/remove and close/install all aircraft panels and related system components to include A-10 windscreens to perform specialist maintenance.
Complies with the requirements of the FOD prevention, housekeeping, tool control, environmental and safety programs.
Completes all necessary manual and automated records required by USAF and Company directives.
Follows technical data, manuals, regulations, and other maintenance directives as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge - A working knowledge of aircraft communication, navigation and instrument systems is required.
The ability to interpret and apply information on schematic diagrams, drawings and charts fault isolation and repair of assigned systems and system subassemblies is required.
Special Certifications Desired - APU Operation, Clear Red X on A-10 Primary AFSC, and Clear In-Process Inspections on A-10 Primary AFSC.
Special Certifications Required - Sign All Condition Tags, and Sign Not Reparable This Station tags.
