JOB PURPOSE

  • To perform, within the scope of their delegated authority, the Avionic mandatory and independent inspection requirements of the 500FH maintenance schedule for Typhoon aircraft.
  • Carry out mandatory or independent inspections, within the scope of their delegated authority, on any modification embodiment, unscheduled work, STOs or Sis on Typhoon aircraft or equipment.
  • Maintain Random inspections, within the scope of their delegated authority, for operators with zero or partial delegation.
  • Protect and assure aircraft airworthiness by maintaining the quality of on aircraft activities and documentation.
  • Deputise for the Senior Supervisor when requested.
  • Responsible for training and mentoring activities in respect of RSAF Trainees

 

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintain the technical quality and airworthiness of Typhoon aircraft by assuring individual inspection standards meet the requirement of the RSAF/DA approved technical publications, M&CA Mandates and the SMU QMS.
  • Perform the daily inspections required to meet and maintain the programmed schedule of maintenance.
  • Assist with work environment checks, housekeeping checks, cleanliness checks and FOD control.
  • Take on supervision duties as the need arises.
  • Monitor the quality of tasks being inspected/certified and report to the Senior Supervisor any concerns regarding operator skill sets.
  • Within the scope of their delegated authority certify any first and second stage inspections
  • Conduct or assist with the investigation of any issues from: Workarounds, Incident, Quality Engineering, Loose Articles and observation reports, deficiency investigations.
  • Where necessary, discuss, in depth, with the customer the report contents and advise on any technical issues that may arise.
  • Ensure that any personal training needs are identified and highlighted to the Aircraft Team Leader and the Quality Manager.
  • Assist the QA department with investigations arising from Customer enquiries and complaints.

 

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • Completion of a recognised aircraft engineering trade apprenticeship.
  • Qualified to NVQ/C&G Level 3 in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Must have proven experience of servicing, maintaining, repairing and performing inspection duties on Typhoon aircraft Avionic and Electrical Systems and equipment with significant time been spent on Typhoon or similar military fast jet aircraft.
  • Must have proven experience within a Quality Assurance/Control organisation.
  • Experience of working within a Typhoon aircraft maintenance organisation.
  • Ability to interpret technical publications and complex engineering drawings.
  • Skilled in the use of the MS Suite of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, power point)
  • Good interpersonal communication and briefing skills.
  • Must have previous Typhoon Avionic Systems experience with a formal ‘Q’ annotation

 

Desirable 

  • Typhoon aircraft Maintenance course.
  • Experience in using DMS/IMS/ESS.
  • Experience is using Trilogiview.
  • Successful completion of fibre optic repair course.
  • Previous experience of working with an electronic quality management tool.
  • Awareness of M&CA legislation.
  • Knowledge of: BAE Systems certification and qualification procedures – RSAF maintenance procedures and practices – SMU contractual obligations.
  • Conversant with RSAF 1500 Engineering paperwork processes.
