Our aviation systems are taking off, so we’re looking to board an Aviation Systems Data Analytics Engineer. Aviation generates a wealth of data. As a Data Analytics Engineer you’ll help develop data driven insights and predictions for products that change how customers fly, maintain, and operate their aircraft. * Create, test, and deploy algorithms and statistical models to uncover key insights from data

* Collaborate and work closely with cross functional teams to identify areas where data analytics can improve operations and efficiencies

* Assess and compare accuracy and effectiveness of new data sources and algorithms.

* Effectively communicate findings through proper data visualization techniques and presentations

* Identifies, documents, and coordinates technical aspects for development of new data flows and analysis.

* Improves processes, tools, and procedures for data analysis

* Exemplifies Garmin’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Quality Policy and proactively works to improve Garmin’s image and culture

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or similar field from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of 2 year relevant experience in software development, data science or machine learning. Must also possess excellent Python programming skills.

Preferred qualifications include:

* Masters degree in the fields noted above and 3 years relevant experience in data science, data analytics

* Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA

* 1 year of experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch

* Demonstrates advanced knowledge in machine learning research

* Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

* Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others

* Private Pilot License
