Our avionics systems are taking off, so we’re looking to board an aviation programs engineer. From conception to development and application of advanced avionics systems, our aviation programs engineers do it all. Must also be able to create aircraft specific interface documentation and wiring diagrams, as well as technical product proposals and related documentation, identifying and documenting technical scope of change, assessing system compliance with a select set of customer requirements and ensuring effective customer communication. We are looking for a full-time Aviation Programs Engineer for our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role you will be responsible for generating bench test plan/procedures for select interfaces or functionality and executing these procedures. Other essential functions include:

* May perform bench testing of select interfaces or functionality and provide support for tool definition
* With some guidance, performs technical market research in support of product definition and/or business development initiatives
* With some guidance, coordinates technical roadmaps for presentation to OEM customers
* Creates and communicates status updates regarding relevant program progress and issues for internal stakeholders
* Analyzes program requirements and works with internal stakeholders to establish effort estimates
* Applies a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion
* May identify and document technical scope of change in support of small changes to already supported functionality or interfaces
* Provide technical content for system design/description documentation
* May review customer requirements to assess compliance

Qualifications

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, or Physics from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of 1-year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other requirements include:

* Demonstrates advanced knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas:
- Systems Integration
- System Safety
- System Requirements
* Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills and provides assistance with troubleshooting equipment in the field
* Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems

A pilot’s license and previous Garmin Integrated Flight Deck experience is highly preferred!
