Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Aviation Ground Support Technician to join our Aero Services division based out of Creech AFB in Indian Springs, NV. This position, under limited supervision is responsible for Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) ground support equipment maintenance and upkeep in support of CONUS and OCONUS activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Inspects, tests, services, operates and troubleshoots ground support equipment (GSE) to determine serviceability and proper operation to include 5 ton trucks, trailers, JP-8 and 100LL fuel trucks, tow tractors, fueler/defueler carts and starter/power carts. Prepares GSE for storage and transportation.
* Troubleshoots malfunctions; removes, disassembles, repairs, cleans, treats, assembles and reinstalls malfunctioning accessories and components on portable hydraulic hoists, hydraulic support stands, tow bars, mechanical toolboxes, hydraulic press, drill press, stationary and portable media blast units, air compressors and related plumbing, portable power tools, hydraulic and fixed work stands, nitrogen bottles and regulators, air data boxes, fuel storage units, battery chargers and generators.
* Maintains and operates UAS ground support equipment and associated equipment.
* Assists in creating and maintaining procedures for maintaining equipment in accordance with ISO, DCMA and/or other US Government regulations.
* Updates a variety of documents, records, databases, and electronic systems for tracking and repairing equipment.
* Performs UAS ground support equipment maintenance and/or technical activities such as preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure successful completion of air mission operations.
* Performs ground support preventative maintenance in accordance to HAZMAT and other OSHA standards and guidelines required for safe operation of aircraft maintenance programs.
* Works in a variety of environments requiring long periods of standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
* Operates heavy equipment (forklifts, cranes, lifts and company vehicle) to aid in the installation and removal equipment requiring a clean and valid driver’s license.
* Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
* Performs other duties as required.

Job Qualifications

* Typically requires education al training equivalent to the completion of a two-year trade school or certification program in a related discipline and three or more years of experience as a GSE mechanic. Equivalent work experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
* Must demonstrate considerable understanding of GSE equipment, practices and concepts as well as considerable knowledge of hand tools, troubleshooting equipment, and precision measuring devices, and ability to read complex specifications, blueprints, drawings, schematics, diagrams, technical publications and manuals.
* Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to grasp new concepts quickly; (2) the ability to identify issues and recognize deviations from accepted practices and processes and resolve complex mechanical and electronic issues; (3) strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document and report; (4) working knowledge of computer operations and applications.
* Ability to work independently and lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
* Ability to travel both CONUS and OCONUS.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security clearance is required.

Travel Percentage Required : 50% - 75%
