UTC Aerospace Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager for the Rosemount Aerospace business headquartered in Burnsville, MN. Rosemount Aerospace is an organization of close to 1,600 employees.

We design, manufacture and service aircraft and engine sensors to provide critical measurements for flight control, cockpit information, and engine control systems for commercial, regional, business, and military aircrafts. The EH&S Associate Director is responsible for assisting site leadership to drive the EH&S culture throughout the business unit and is accountable, along with top management for managing and facilitating improved environmental, health and safety (EH&S) performance. The EH&S Manager is responsible to prepare regular reports and analyses for the Site Operations Manager of the Burnsville, MN site to ensure Rosemount Aerospace is meeting EH&S plans, targets and objectives. She/he coordinates with UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS), business unit EH&S and other managers to ensure compliance with EH&S regulations, corrective action development and closure, and proactive project management within the operating environment of the Burnsville, MN campus.
This critical role will have 8 reports and has very high visibility.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Responsible for anticipating, identifying, evaluating and employing controls to address potential workplace EH&S related hazards. This includes developing, creating acceptance of and implementing methods and programs with demonstrable benefits.
* Interpret EH&S regulations and developing/implementing strategies to ensure compliance with government regulations and company requirements.
* Involvement in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and making environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly.
* Responsible for ensuring local policies are maintained in accordance with those issued by UTC, UTAS, OSHA and other relevant in-country agencies/requirements, and coordinating applicable training for all employees.
* Manage and oversee the implementation of corporate initiatives and regulatory compliance for EH&S systems at Burnsville, MN site.
* Assisting site leadership to drive improvement in the EH&S culture across the Burnsville, MN site.
* Hire, supervise, and develop EH&S professional staff members Able to stay on top of industry trends and benchmark best practices.

Qualification: Basic Qualifications:

* 10 years of Environmental Health and Safety experience
* 5+ years of related experience within a medium to large manufacturing facility
* Demonstrated managerial and leadership skills
* Must be able to travel on occasion and work across shifts as needed to ensure EH&S commitments are met.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Good communication and presentation skills
* Ability to motivate a diverse population with varying levels of EH&S commitment
* Team player attitude a requirements

Education:
* Bachelor’s degree required
* Master’s degree preferred
