Purpose:

Responsible for supporting, administering, implementing and maintaining an effective quality assurance program across the ground operations departments of the Cathay Group airlines, and with relevant suppliers of operational services.

Section Responsibilities:

Operational Quality System and Quality Assurance

* Conduct audits effectively, efficiently and according to documented procedures and planned schedule.

* Act as Lead Auditor or Auditor for Consolidated Port Audits, Internal Audits and Supplier Audits.

* Assist the GQAM-GO in preparation for internal and supplier audits such as preparing the ISARP (IATA Standards & Recommended Practices) matrix, yearly schedule, checklist creation, etc.

* Assist the GQAM-GO with quality control checklists and QCP automation program.

* Support the continued listing of the Cathay Group airlines on the IATA IOSA registry via focus on Ground Handling and Cargo IOSA disciplines.

* Assist the GQAM-GO with the bi-annual IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA). This includes the ownership and assessment of operational activities to ensure ongoing conformance with the relevant IOSA standards, briefings of ground operations teams and production of the conformance report for both CGO & GRH disciplines.

* Conduct monthly unannounced inspections at HKIA and Cargo Hub, inclusive of ramp operations, as part of the quality oversight program.

* Maintain accurate, up to date and complete audit records in AQD.

* Support auditor on job training for new GSORM - Quality auditors, regional based auditors and subject matter experts.

* Provide periodic updates to management in relation to outstanding actions.

* Provide valuable input to different safety groups i.e. ASR (ASD) & WSM (CSD) in order to achieve operational outcomes that adhere to safety and security imperatives.

* Review and provide recommendations on improving quality system performance and effectiveness.

* Assist ground operations teams in preparation of documentation that forms part of the quality management system.

* Assist with internal quality educational/training programs and promotion of quality systems awareness throughout the company.

General Tasks

* Represent the Company and/or Department at relevant meetings in a professional and loyal manner

* Assist in the response to a crisis involving the Cathay Group airlines as a member of the Care Team

* Develop and maintain an effective relationship with the ground operations departments based on mutual trust and understanding, including participation in departmental management meetings

* Deputize for the GQAM-GO as required

* Extensive duty travel required

* Adhere to company policies as published in the Cathay Group Airlines Intranet

Experience, Key Skills & Qualifications:

* 3-5 years operational experience in the airline industry, preferably in cargo handling and/or ground operations

* 1-3 years in a management or supervisory role

* Adequate and appropriate auditing or quality systems experience

* Tertiary education or equivalent

* Lead Auditor qualification

* Understanding of Cargo Handling, Airport Handling and Ground Operations

* Dangerous Goods Awareness

* Excellent command of both spoken and written English

* Interpersonal and communication skills

* Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

* Data- and process-literate

* Computer literate - Microsoft Office

* Care Team training
