Purpose

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Flight Operations Communications & Engagement Manager in the execution of all departmental communications for Flight Operations for Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon, as well as in the design and implementation of broader communications and engagement initiatives, strategies and activities aimed at improving employee relations and operational effectiveness across the department.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the implementation of a communications and engagement plan aimed at improving employee relations and operational effectiveness across all Flight Crew and FOP staff for Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon.

* Support the production, delivery and management of communication materials and channels for Flight Crew, including newsletters, updates on policies and procedures, the CX and KA FOP website, Crew Bulletins, FOP-produced magazines, Yammer and email communications to Flight Crew.

* Create an open and reliable environment for the constructive sharing and learning of knowledge that will contribute to continuous improvement

* Develop and maintain effective relationships across the organization, and especially with people across CX and KA FOP and the flight crew community, in order to act as a central point for all internal and flight crew communication.

* Be a primary point of contact for Yammer and other sponsored corporate communications channels, ensuring feedback and queries posted are responded to in a timely, polite and effective manner and acting as a liaison between flight crew and relevant stakeholders.

* Act as an editorial screen for all externally and internally sourced and created content on all FOP channels to ensure consistency with the overall Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon styles.

* Organise and manage a variety of corporate events for employees across FOP

* Assist with budget management and development of periodic progress reports for initiatives and events.

* Manage ad-hoc projects related to flight crew communication at the request of the Flight Operations Communications & Engagement Manager.

Requirements

* A graduate degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Aviation or a related discipline

* Extremely effective communication skills; excellent command of written and spoken English (proven ability to translate between English and Chinese would be advantageous) and ability to communicate across cultures;

* Solid project management experience and event-management skills

* Computer literate (including the ability to create compelling presentations, visuals and info-graphics in some of the following applications - Photoshop, PowerPoint, Keynote, Flash, InDesign, Illustrator)

* Experience using and managing social media channels, including Yammer

* Knowledge in video production and publishing applications is an advantage

* A passion for and experience in aviation and / or flying would be a significant advantage.

* A minimum of four years’ experience in a communications discipline, preferably with experience in a large, multinational organisation

* Experience creating targeted communications for multiple client groups

* Proven experience working on communications and engagement activities (internal audiences advantageous)

* Prior experience using and/or developing SharePoint websites will be advantageous
